Part Time Paid Internship
Title: Operations Intern
Department: Guest Services
Reports Directly To: Event Services Coordinator
Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is looking to add (2) Two Operations Intern's who will assist the Event Services Coordinator in all aspects of the department during both the Spring Training and the Florida State League seasons. The department covers all aspects of the day-to-day operations, game-day operations, stadium operations and staffing and all non-professional baseball events taking place at the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium complex.
Duties and
Responsibilities
- Spring Training
• Perform a detailed daily walk through of the facility and surrounding areas each day.
• Work closely with and assist front office staff of the Cardinals and Marlins.
• Assist in the training and supervision of the part-time stadium staff in all aspects of security and game-day operations.
• Assist the Event Services Coordinator in the running of all aspects of stadium operations. Included in stadium operations: security, program sales, concourse entertainment, maintenance and in-park staff.
• Help in maintaining the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service, security and other ballpark issues.
• Serve as point person for security-related questions on game day.
• Assist in leading the part-time staff in terms of customer service and in the day-to-day operations.
• Assist in the reconciliation of monies from other areas of the operation including parking,
programs and concourse entertainment.
• Assist with any team mascot or player appearances at the ballpark or in the community.
• Assist with any all other non-baseball events that take place at the complex.
• Assist with promotions, sales and data entry.
• Responsible for taking lead role in scheduling of the part-time staff.
• Responsible for maintaining labor reports for all operations part-time staff.
• Ability to work long days and upwards of 75 hours/week for duration of the Spring Training
season.

• Assist the Event Services Coordinator with all aspects of stadium and game-day operations.
• Reconciliation of monies, training, supervision and scheduling of the part-time and game
day staff.
• Leading the part-time staff in terms of customer service, security and other issues.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down the facility for nightly promotions.
• Assist with any and all baseball and non-baseball events taking place at the complex.
• Assist with the distribution of pocket schedules and promotional pieces.
• Assist with selling of tickets for promotional nights, group outings and individual games.

• Assist with any team mascot or player appearances at the ballpark or in the community.
• Assist with promotions, sales and data entry.
• Assist with scheduling, set-up, execution and break down of non-professional baseball
events including youth tournaments, company outings, charity events, etc. Experience Required
• Must be willing to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must communicate and work with other departments – including marketing, sales, grounds
crew, maintenance, etc.
• Must have intermediate cash handling skills.
• Must be willing to work both in a team setting as well as an individual.
• Must be able to interact and work closely with customers and present themselves in a
professional manner.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Salary: Florida State Minimum Wage Start Date: January, 2020 End Date: August, 2020
