The CG Supervisor oversees the 3D department and pipeline. You will collaborate closely with Production and Management to deliver high quality results and solutions for each project. You will also lead the VFX teams (lighting, asset, etc.) to creatively produce photorealistic visual effects.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Producers in scheduling and delegating tasks to 3D artists.
Mentor and guide artists in the 3D teams.
Assist in the recruitment and selection process to ensure the 3D teams are equipped with the skill-set needed for project requirement.
Collaborate with VFX Supervisors to ensure the artistic style, quality, and continuity matches client vision and standards.
Oversee and create quality 3D Models, Animations, Textures, Lighting, and Shading within a render pipeline.
Problem-solve creative and technical problems under tight deadlines.
Supervise the Technical Directors to troubleshoot and prevent software and pipeline issues.
Improve and streamline technologies and tools for the production pipeline and workflow.
Assist in team communication and promote company inclusive and positive culture.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years' experience as a Senior CG artist or similar role in live-action VFX pipeline.
At least 2 years' proven experience as leading or supervising a team.
Strong leadership, technical and communication skills to liaise with various departments and artists.
Strong understanding and knowledge of both technical and artistic aspect of CG and 3D pipeline and production
Highest proficiency in Maya, Mari, Houdini, Zbrush, PF Track and Nuke.
Knowledge of MEL, RSL and Python are a plus.
Capacity to thrive in a results-driven pipeline.
Excellent planning, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to take initiative and handle both creative and technical issues in a professional manner.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
