TITLE: Rotten Tomatoes' Fresh Daily
Job opening for a temporary, 8-week freelance SEGMENT PRODUCER position on the mobile, short form, daily, online film and television recommendation show, Fresh Daily. Tasks include researching and writing one 2-to-3-minute script focused on movies and TV shows. Each script includes information pertinent to each show or film (airdate, release date, synopsis, fun fact, etc). Segment Producer must also assist in the gathering of assets (stills and footage) to cover voice over. Producer will also order graphics (full screen and lower thirds) to support the narrative. Each script must be factually accurate and convey information in a concise and entertaining manner for the show's hosts to read on camera.
START DATE: JULY 11, 2020
Shift is Saturday-Wednesday. All work conforms to California's Stay at Home order.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all aspects of assigned segment, from concept through to delivery.
• Write one 2-to-3-minute show script
• Conduct research necessary for writing of script
• Order assets (stills and footage) that support the script
• Take time code notes during remote shoots
• Work with talent
• Work collaboratively with team including Editor, Associate Producer and Production Assistant
• Guarantee on-time delivery of segments and meet deadlines
• Juggle multiple assignments.
• Additional duties as assigned. Some weekend and evening shifts as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Applicants must have at least two years of entertainment news or news writing experience and a natural curiosity and knowledge of both current and historical films and television series. Additional tasks include pitching ideas for each show and supporting lead producers on daily shoots. Applicants must be self-motivated, punctual and able to work under the pressure of daily deadlines.
