Celebrity, Multicultural, and Social Impact Public Relations agency is seeking a college graduate for an entry-level position as an Assistant Publicist. We are a small outfit with clients who are respected talents in the Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Social Justice areas. What you would learn, and gain from experience in this position within a year is far greater than any of the others. What separates us is our focused client list, our care, and our truly personal approach to advancing our clients' careers one project at a time. This is a hybrid position with three-four days remote with one day in a shared office setting. We offer a full immersion into the industry with the opportunity to contribute and be exposed to major television and film campaigns. We provide our employees with a full home office with a laptop, phone, printer, etc. We offer a work-life balance, as well as spot performance bonuses, medical, 401K, and more.
Requirements to Apply:
- Must live in the State of California - Los Angeles preferred - will accept outer counties if willing to travel into town when asked
- Must be willing to work in a hybrid situation with three days at home and two days in an office setting
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when asked and is appropriate for client campaigns.
- College Graduate with a Public Relations, Communications degree preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 with a PC, or Online, for the programs, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, One Drive, and Sharepoint (tutorials will be supplied and onboarding classes can be given if you have experience using some of the programs but not all)
- Muckrack and/or Cision for Media List Building
- Strong Writing and Grammar Skills
- Experience with Zoom, Slack, and other online programs preferred
- Experience with editing small video files, creating animated/video and static posts for social media for clients
- One or two hands-on internships in Entertainment Publicity where you did daily media monitoring
- Strategic Thinking for campaign ideation and implementation
Daily Responsibilities:
- Daily Media Monitoring for our clients
- Daily Media and Competitive research for clients
- Monthly Reporting using Mucrack and/or Coverage Book (will teach) for clients
- Coordinating schedules for clients with schedules of executives, in a Microsoft Office Calendar
- Email Correspondence
- Assisting with sending memos to secure and coordinate media placements, as well as itineraries for travel and festivals
- Covering Red Carpet events, Photoshoots, and Virtual when asked and needed
- Weekly meeting agendas and notes
- Assisting with writing and New Business research
- Light Pitching and coordinating interviews
