Job Overview: We are looking for a Development Coordinator to assist the SVP of Development, help manage the oversight of our unscripted slate of projects as well as contribute creatively to the development of new and existing projects. The position is full-time with flexible office/remote work options and the role can be based out of either Los Angeles or New York.
Responsibilities:
• Assist SVP of Development with administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling, organization of materials (slate and creative), liaising between other staff and team members, taking notes on calls and pitches when required, ensuring buyer mandates are organized and up to date.
• Liaise with external partners and representatives such as agents, management companies, talent and other production companies.
• Source IP for both scripted and unscripted concepts.
• Ideate original concepts.
• Assist with the creation of development materials including treatments, decks, proposals, and scripts.
• Generate, maintain and organize lists associated with project packaging i.e. talent, director and writer lists.
• Forge relationships with buyers, producers, and writers to solicit and develop new projects.
• Collaborate with other department coordinators, assistants, and top tier executives.
• Evaluate and vet materials submitted by third party producers for viability.
• Conduct research on a variety of topics as it relates to creative development for specific show concepts.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) preferred.
• Ability to communicate with and maintain professionalism among high level executives and high-profile individuals.
• Superior attention to detail, time management and organizational skills, strong work ethic, forward-thinking and proactive.
• Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to create decks and presentations in Power Point or Keynote is a plus.
• Knowledge of key players within the TV landscape including executives, producers, and creatives.
• A passion for both unscripted and scripted television is a must.
