This position is a hybrid role requiring knowledge of Desktop Support and Systems Administration in both an office and production environment. The ideal candidate will need to provide technical subject matter expertise and communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical ability. Maintenance and management of the end user hardware in addition to the production environment's infrastructure and network are additional duties of the job. The successful candidate will be the principal administrator for a small office and datacenter whom can multitask and maintain both.
The candidate must have 3 to 5 years' experience in Desktop Support and must perform the following duties:
Job Responsibilities
• Deploy, manage, monitor and support all end-user devices throughout the enterprise, including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, VoIP phones, scanners, printers and video-conferencing systems.
• Identify issues with servers and end-user devices and communicate potential solutions or workarounds to involved parties in a timely manner.
• Provide updates on outstanding issues in the New York environments. Maintain visibility of open issues and requests.
• Manage Windows, OSX, and Linux servers and workstations.
• Active Directory administration and management including cleanup, routine maintenance, and configuration.
• Manage Firewalls, AV, and Security for each server.
• Document, develop, and manage GPO in the corporate and production environments.
• Manage, monitor, and respond to alerts for systems and services maintained.
• Test and plan patches and upgrades to ensure server and workstation environment are compliant with industry best practices.
• Participate in System Administration On-Call rotational support roster
• Support team in established operations and maintenance activities
• Work with vendors and document important requirements resulting from these engagements
• Basic Administration of Virtual Machines in VMWare including Creating, Modifying, Moving and Deleting VMs.
• Weekends, holiday and nighttime support will be required as necessary
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skill Sets
A combination of experience and strong competence/familiarity in the following areas:
Required experience:
• Experience supporting MS Server 2008 and later
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, AD, and GPO in a Windows Environment (knowledge with these technologies in Unix/Linux environments is a plus)
• Experience supporting users/systems in a distributed enterprise network
• Knowledge of System recovery and backup processes in multiple environments. Disaster recovery planning knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of centralized log management and monitoring.
• Knowledge of change management policies.
• Knowledge of asset management
• Experience working with LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless networking technologies
• Experience working with Unix/Linux machines on CLI
Education
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift and/or move objects. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger and grasp, using repetitive motions; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and feel. This job requires the employee to have close visual acuity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
