About the Role
The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Finance & Accounting Team and play a critical role in helping keep accurate financial records, generate timely and accurate financial statements, provide necessary reporting to management and other key stakeholders, assist with annual audits and other ad hoc projects as needed. This person will work cross-functionally with other departments in the execution of the role's duties.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):
Responsibilities:
• Own high level monthly accounting reconciliations as an individual contributor, including those related to software capitalization, certain revenue and payroll related accruals.
• Assist the department in the annual financial statement audit, tax returns, and other regulatory compliance processes.
• Establish relationships with our external financial partners and prepare the necessary related monthly and quarterly reports.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate recording and representation of expenses, including necessary accruals for outstanding or unreceived invoices.
• Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Implement and oversee the NetSuite PO creation and approval process.
• Assist the VP Finance & Controller and CFO in identifying areas for process improvement, as well as planning for future growth.
• Other projects as deemed necessary by the Controller or CFO.
Required Skills:
• Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., pivot tables, H&V lookups, Index/Match functions, macros, etc.) with proficiency in other MS office applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Must be a self-starter with ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
• Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize tasks and work well under time constraints
• Must be able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and tactfully with persons at all levels.
• Must have the ability to adapt and be agile amongst a changing environment.
• Understanding of the entertainment and media industry a plus??????
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree required, degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
• CPA a plus
• MBA a plus
Experience:
• 3 years' experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or other related role with increasing levels of responsibility
• Experience with NetSuite and Oracle EPM a plus
• Experience managing multiple company entities and International accounting a plus - ?????
