Pragmatic is a film, television and digital literary consultancy that helps content creators find, acquire and develop books and other literary material into motion pictures, television content and digital media. Using the traditional book scouting model as a starting point, the company works in an advisory role or as a producing partner with producers, studios, financiers, filmmakers, actors, and writers. We are looking for interns for the Fall 2018 semester (September-December).
Interns will have the opportunity to see how film, TV and other creative projects are identified, packaged and ultimately brought to audiences. They will read and write coverage on manuscripts, scripts, articles, plays and other material. Additionally, they will help compile weekly reports on available material, update databases and perform other administrative tasks as necessary. They will not answer phones or run personal errands.
Candidates should have strong interest in and some basic knowledge of the broader entertainment industry, and publishing/film/tv specifically. A significant amount of reading is required, so successful candidates will be interested in and passionate about movies, books and TV. Familiarity with Google Apps and Filemaker is a plus.
We are looking for interns who can commit to 1-3 days a week (11am-7pm) and who are self-starters as this is a remote work opportunity.
