Postproduction Manager
Overview
Practising Law Institute (''PLI'') is seeking a Postproduction Manager for its talented, Manhattan-based Multimedia team. PLI's array of world-class legal education programs and services continues to grow, as does PLI's client base of prestigious law firms and Fortune 500 companies. The Postproduction Manager will lead the New York and San Francisco staff who are assigned to encoding webcasts and editing recorded programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Postproduction Operations
• The Postproduction Manager ensures day-to-day operational excellence in the department.
• Ensures sufficient resources are deployed so that products and projects are delivered on time.
• Provide leadership and direction to the team of editors.
• Delegates and supports the production process of transcripts and closed captions for every recorded program.
• Keeps the technology used for editing up to date and adopts new tools that enhance the team's ability to deliver.
• Works cooperatively with the Associate Director, Multimedia and will step in and respond to the Multimedia Department's needs and issues in the absence of the Director and Associate Director.
Pre-Production Responsibility
• Works within a suite of custom developed tools to prepare programs for webcast on their assigned date
• Assigns custom data to webcast programs that enables them to work across the organization for various departments
• Confirms dates, time zones for the program and the start and stop times are correct so they can be accessed by customers.
• Provides Groupcast links when needed
Effective Communications:
• Manage employee relations issues that may arise in a professional and timely manner.
• Manage the work efforts needed to find and fix issues that affect the quality of recorded programs.
• Resolves internal and external issues that affect the delivery of digital media products and services.
• Develops and manages vendor and partner relationships.
• Collaborates with team members to improve product delivery to customers via enhancements and new features.
• Collaborates with in-house and external multimedia developers to fix and continuously improve PLI's media platform for state-of-the-art content delivery.
• Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises a team of technicians in New York, San Francisco.
• Responsible for writing year end performance reviews and mid-year performance, goals and career development (PGD) discussions that are held to advise employees about their performance and their progress on their assigned goals
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree strongly recommended with three to five years of video production experience
• 1+ years of experiencing managing a team
• Previous experience with live webcasting using various platforms and encoders preferred.
• Working knowledge and comfort with various software programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Some familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required, in addition to superior oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter, capable of multi-tasking and paying attention to detail.
• Knowledge of encoding formats, Microsoft Windows OS, MacOS and iOS operating systems
• Experience working with XML, SQL and web services interfaces is desired.
• Familiar with postproduction editing software
• Familiarity with Excel, Salesforce and Jira
