Job description
The Packaging Operator creates and edits content metadata, packages assets, and delivers files to various distributors as assigned for the Delivery Team. This includes downloading or retrieving customer provided metadata packages, editing XML, running scripts and otherwise manipulating the metadata as needed to create a final package that accurately describes the content and can be packaged and uploaded to a customer site.
Knowledge of industry standards for digital supply chains (e.g. EIDR, IMF, MMC, MEC, etc)
Gathering missing metadata from internal and external sources.
Logically analyze and fix failed metadata and images submissions.
Utilize and monitor production database, inputting data as necessary to track progress.
Operation of computer systems with various operational tools and data management software.
Follow data management procedures to ensure all team members can access accurate and timely information on element status, location and history.
Responsibilities:
• Create and verify XML/XLS documents for digital platforms.
• Analyze and fix failed metadata submissions.
• Proactively learn and provide feedback on tools for development.
• Create metadata templates (for multiple platforms).
• Send and receive files to and from various vendors and clients through multiple delivery systems.
Required:
• 2 + years of metadata creation, editing, packaging and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of digital file transfer using different delivery systems (Aspera, Media Shuttle, FTP, etc.)
• Knowledge of audio, video & image file formats (.MOV, .WAV, .PNG, etc.) Photoshop experience. Knowledge of MMC and MEC metadata a plus.
