The Junior. Producer will be paired with a producer and will serve as support to that producer for various tasks related to production. Simultaneously, the producers, department manager, and department director will provide training in areas of project management and production to the Jr. Producer in an effort to develop their skills and set them on the growth path to becoming a producer. Training may include organized educational sessions or instructions and practical application. The Jr. Producer will also be expected to be proactive with their own education, asking questions, and performing research as needed at work and/or in their own time.
There will be no set timeline for the growth path, as this will be evaluated based off of the progress of the individual and the needs of the company. Timeline for the growth path will also be dependent on previous experience and knowledge as the candidate comes into the position.
Responsibilities:
- Project types the Jr. Producer will assist in coordinating include but are not limited to lip-sync dubbing, voiceover, and audio description
- Working with the producer and department coordinator prior to implementing and distributing project schedule to ensure resource availability, which will provide the producer with location/shift information identifying external resource options
- Coordinating\scheduling with voice talent and agents
- Sending requests or information to production teams
- Tracking and ensuring consistency through KNP and other means
- Project documents, VQ backups, and deliverable prep on script
- Provide feedback when appropriate to department director and manager in regards to resource viability
- Participate in feedback or suggestions for process improvement
- Participate in educational exercises, programs, and/or self-education in areas of postproduction related to PHD workflows
- Assists in documentation as assigned
- Other tasks as assigned
In addition to the above responsibilities, training will cover the following Producer Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including but not limited to the following:
- Client interface for assigned projects (creative and coordination)
- Participates in the bid creation or reviews post-bid creation to ensure comprehension of projects budget prior to work commencing
- Updating client on cost changes throughout the project, submitting final bid, and submitting final invoice
- Works to ensure that projects stay within budget but if overages are incurred, must clearly outline where the deviations took place
- Drafting creative roadmaps and finalizing them with department director or manager
- Drafting the project schedule and finalizing it with the department director or manager
- Sending out project kick-off emails to all key players
- Working with the producer, department director, and department manager to ensure that the creative road map and creative vision are maintained throughout the entire process of the project - this will include overseeing select recording sessions during the recording process, spot checking daily recordings for sessions unattended, and performing a final creative QC prior to delivery
