Social Responsibility Coordinator (Part-Time)
As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we bring people together to create extraordinary moments and lasting memories through the power of sports and entertainment.
To support our mission, we are seeking a part-time Social Responsibility Coordinator who will assist the Social Responsibility (SR) department with community relations efforts. In this position, you'll work with our community partners and members and support our SR department with team initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
• Coordinating all community elements of the company's employee engagement efforts including:
• Handling a calendar of staff volunteer opportunities with community nonprofits
• Facilitating an annual employee giving voting and funding process
• Supporting staff serving on nonprofit boards with company funding and resources
• Facilitating community aspects of corporate partner programs including working with local nonprofits to activate events in order to have a positive impact on local youth.
• Fielding and managing community requests from fans and public via numerous communication channels including email, phone, and website inquiries to ensure appropriate referral and responses to each of them.
• Running special in-game experiences for local youth including coordinating logistics and staffing occasional game nights.
• Staffing SR and community events such as our annual giveaway, as needed.
• Participating in additional administrative tasks for the Social Responsibility department including managing the department calendar, meeting preparation, etc.
You will be responsible for:
• You have at least one year of applicable work experience; experience working with non profits or with community partnerships, preferred.
• You are able to work part-time, flexible hours that may include the occasional night and weekend.
• You have customer service experience.
• You are available to staff Trail Blazer home games, as needed (approximately 10 games or less per season).
• You demonstrate proficiency in MS Office Suite and it's applications.
• You understand the importance of equity when engaging with local communities and are able to build relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
• You come to work each day with a focus on learning and value new perspectives in your job.
• You demonstrate strong project management with an ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, appreciate the details, and promptly react to difficult situations in an effective manner. You are flexible and creative when taking care of last minute requests/changes.
• You are effective in getting results, handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• You are detail-oriented and dedicated to strong communication and follow through.
• You demonstrate excellent people skills and interact effectively in a professional, diplomatic and mature manner with internal and external partners.
• You are resourceful, motivated, high-initiative, and bring a positive attitude to everything you do.
• You are able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
