Brooklyn agency Playbook MG is looking for an extremely media savvy public relations professional to amplify the work of our music, culinary and lifestyle clients. Candidate must be a hardworking, and empathetic. A critical thinker that cares about being a good teammate and able to bring positive vibes to our eclectic group.
In the short-term, you will be securing daily press coverage on television, radio, print, and digital outlets; proactively pitching media, responding to inbound requests, and strategizing with department leadership on press stories. Reporting to the ''Senior Manager, Communications,'' this role will produce communications materials, including press releases, media alerts, and pitches on deadline. You will maintain targeted media lists and cultivate strong relationships with national TV and radio bookers.
Responsibilities
Work closely with VP, PR to manage internal/external communications and press efforts for clients/talents.
Conceptualize, craft and pitch stories to national and local media to generate maximum, positive publicity for Playbook MG client roster.
Work closely with media partners to identify and disseminate breaking news and big interviews.
Work with internal teams including editorial, marketing, research, sales, digital and social media to identify publicity opportunities
Manage relationship with journalists, DJs, YouTube channels, and event promoters to maximize coverage of music clients. Identify and pitch stories daily
Generate press materials including news releases, bios, media alerts, programming announcements, pitch letters and talking points
Cultivate positive relationships with anchors/reporters, producers and newsdesk
Create, manage and update targeted and specialty media lists
Coordinate and supervise various media requests to support client content including interviews, photo shoots and videos.
Manage and plan events for talent including bookings and anniversary parties
Coordinate and pitch radio interviews for talent
Work closely with graphics to create assets needed to promote Business News programs and long form documentaries
Oversee program highlights
Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news
