Picture Motion is looking for a passionate and thoughtful impact producer and media strategist to oversee the department of Impact Strategy. If you are someone who believes that film and tv, when paired with the right campaign, can truly create change, then we want to hear from you.
The entertainment industry is fast-paced, dynamic, and exciting. It is also constantly evolving. The Head of Impact Strategy will keep abreast of changes and ensure Picture Motion can adapt to meet those needs. Our clients range from new voices in independent filmmaking to the biggest studios, so we are looking for someone who can thrive in working with both creatives and corporations. You must be committed to social justice, while understanding how to work within larger institutions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership
Set the vision and goals for the department and strategies to meet them
Manage and motivate your team and empower them to be successful in serving clients and partners
Participate in and represent Picture Motion at industry-related events, film festivals, and associations that will enhance leadership skills, the organization's reputation, and the organization's potential for success
Provide thoughtful strategic thinking, issue space research, and nuanced guidance to employees
Ensure department meets company goals
Client Management
Develop close working relationships with clients, funders and partners
In some cases, be the client manager for the campaign and lead calls, send weekly reports, and serve as the day-to-day point of contact
Serve as ''Impact Producer'' for select clients
Adapt to respond to the unique needs of clients
Strategy development
Oversee research for a strategic plan
Lead partnership development for a campaign - conduct in-depth partner conversations to inform your strategies and activations, set goals and timelines for successful partnerships, and manage partner activation implementation.
Run and participate in brainstorms and brain-trusts
Develop the theory of change and campaign goals
Review our strategy templates and edit / adjust for best results
Design campaign programs and initiatives and in some cases, execute those programs
Lead research and data mining to inform campaign strategy
Lead partnerships development within campaign's issue areas
Manage / contribute to social media strategies
Draft / contribute to research such as issue area one pagers, decks, strategic frameworks or campaign roadmap presentations
Draft and deliver thorough and efficient strategies to clients
Ensure all campaign materials and client reports are of highest quality prior to delivery
Operations
Support the COO in project / client assignment and work allocation to best meet campaign and impact goals.
Ensure campaigns are on time, on budget and meeting KPIs
If there are new hires, support in the process of identifying new talent such as writing job descriptions, interviewing etc.
Business Development
Read, edit and contribute to proposals for new projects
As needed, preview potential projects and evaluate their potential for impact
Brainstorm unique campaign ideas to include in proposals
Understand the departments commitments and adjust proposed timelines as necessary
Experience & Required Skills
5+ years experience in social impact entertainment, media strategy, non-profit and advocacy work, or a related field around the intersection of social activism and media
Experience managing direct reports
Strong writing skills
Strong communication and client service skills
Highly organized and data driven
Must be able to attend (digital and/or in-person when deemed safe) screenings and events happening after work and on weekends
Experience managing multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously
Agency experience a plus
Sense of humor and fun to work with a big plus
Must believe in the power of story to create social change

Non-profit partners feel like they and/or their issue areas benefited from collaborating with the campaign
You nurture great relationships with non-profit leaders, activists and issue area experts
You produce thought-out and executable strategies, industry leading reports, infographics etc.
