As a member of the Security department, you will help provide a safe environment for our guests, employees and vendors at all times. You will be responsible for enforcing arena policy and procedures while delivering a high level of customer service.
What you will do:
Events and Staff Responsibilities
As the Security Manager, you will be responsible of managing the events and staff at the arena. This includes but is not limited to:
• Creating posting and briefing sheets, performing pre-event safety inspection, conducting briefings, responding to incidents, listening and resolving guest complaints and issues.
Building the security service estimates based upon the event security requests from event promotors.
• Ensuring all event security staffing requests are fulfilled and properly scheduled.
• Reconciling the final event security service bills prior to submission for payment.
• Supervising the event security staff and responding to emergency situations.
• Acting as the liaison between the Phoenix Fire, First Responders (medical contractor), the ambulance provider and concert tour security.
• Ensuring all event related incident reports are completed in the reporting database (24/7 Software).
• Preparing information packets for evaluations, giving performance evaluations for Lead Officers and assist Lead Officers in writing evaluations as needed.
• Counseling of security staff, the tracking of disciplinary infractions.
• Compiling and submitting the Event Summary Report to the executive management staff.
• Assisting the Security Director, as needed.
Training and Hiring Responsibilities
• Conducting interviews for potential new hires and assisting in the hiring process of potential candidates.
• Assisting in preparing and updating the New Hire Security Manual, facilitate new hire classroom training and providing the required computer training to the staff.
• Providing report writing training to the event staff and oversee the entering of incident reports into the reporting database (24/7 Software).
• Familiarity with the Liquor Law (T.E.A.M. alcohol training) information.
• Assisting the Director of Security with the development and maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Operation Plans and other security procedures as deemed appropriate.
What we need from our Manager:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High School Diploma is required, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• 5 years event security experience
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
What you can expect:
• While there is a set schedule, employees must be able to work according to the business needs, which could include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Visual acuity.
• Dexterity to handle radios, vehicle screening mirrors, hand wands and other essential equipment.
• Ability to lift items weighing 25 pounds or more such as barricade, boxes, bags, etc.
• Ability to carry objects of 30 yards without assistance.
• Ability to physically defend themselves and others.
• Ability to conduct multiple foot patrols of the facility without assistance and in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand at fixed posts for several hours at a time in all weather conditions.
• Subject to reaching, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to climb ladders and ability to walk on catwalk 90 feet above the ground level and other extreme heights.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner without assistance.
• Ability to assist guests and staff in emergencies, including pushing wheelchairs and/or picking up, dragging or otherwise moving persons in distress.
• Due to the nature of our business, the employee will work in an environment with large crowds and loud noises to include sporting and concert events.
