Job Purpose
This position is responsible for assisting the Manager Retail & Promotions in the development and execution of marketing plans related to growing our merchandise business. Marketing Assistant will also assist in coordinating the premium and promotional buying process across the organization.
Primary (Essential) Duties
• Work with multiple departments to understand their needs as it relates to premium items, coordinate with vendors and place orders
• Assist in the creation or marketing plans and events for the retail business, including Item of the Game, in-game presentation, email marketing inclusion, social media schedule and Suns mobile integration
• Stay current with topics and trends related to Best in Class practices across all retail types, especially sports and entertainment.
• Assist in running the retail social media accounts
• Assist in creating campaign recap documents with a focus on continued learnings
• Provide current, accurate and reliable information to Marketing Manager as to daily, weekly, monthly activities and initiatives
• Assist in other marketing duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
• Strategic and creative thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated and work independently with limited supervision
• Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, some holidays and some overtime to meet business needs
• Focus on results
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)

Experience/Education Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field is required.
• Minimum one (1) years of experience in marketing, advertising or retail.
