Full Time Job
As the Director, Membership Experience & Arena Sports Group, you are ultimately responsible for helping the organization achieve their annual revenue goals across the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Rattlers. This is done via managing a staff of Account Executives on the Suns Membership Experience team and Arena Sports Group, along with two managers, who focus every day on servicing our members.
As the Director of the Arena Sports Group
• You are responsible for all ticket sales revenue initiatives for the Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Rattlers
• You will be asked to build a Business Plan and execute the membership services, membership sales, and group sales campaigns for the Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Rattlers.
As the Director of Suns Membership Experience
• Your primary focus is in retaining our base of Suns season ticket members, through superior customer service done on a continual & annual basis.
• You are also responsible for: creating member only events, call campaigns, social functions, in game seat visits and other tasks as assigned in an effort to work with your team on creating a “Wow” experience for our customers so that they renew their membership each and every year.
• You are responsible for the renewal strategy and execution for the Suns, along with mobile ticketing objectives.
• You will also be working with the Premium Account Executives with best practices in handling premium client relationships.
What You Will Do:
• Hire, train, coach & develop a staff of Membership Experience and Arena Sports team members
• Create and implement a business plan for Suns, Mercury and Rattlers retention and new business efforts
• Attend appointments with staff in an effort to help drive new & retain revenue
• Attend all Suns, Mercury and Rattlers games & handle all in game service related issues/complaints from members
• Responsible for researching and recommending new membership events
• Work with and maintain strong relationships with other departments & executive team
• Plan and manage in-game upgrades, seat relocations, and “wow” experiences for all season ticket members across the Suns, Mercury and Rattlers
• Attend team and community events for the purpose of maximizing sales & retention opportunities
• Assist in the production of all support materials for service department
• Cross-training of other departments on retention related initiatives
• Staff all retention tables & team member assignments for game and non-game day events
• Attend all member events
• Live the organization’s F.A.M.I.L.Y values each day
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
What We Need from our Director:
• Knowledge of Ticketmaster, Archtics, KORE CRM system(s) preferred
• Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products such as: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn are a must.
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Desire to manage & lead a team a must
• First class recruiter
• Desire to serve and work directly with customers a must
• Ability to present in front of large audiences preferred
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years sports ticket sales/service related experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years sales management experience required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
