Faculty Position - Musical Theatre Choreographer/ Dance Teacher
The School of Theatre invites applications for a full-time Choreographer/Dance Teacher position in the nationally renowned BFA Musical Theatre (MT) program. This is a multi- year fixed term (non-tenure track) Assistant Teaching Professor appointment, with the possibility of renewal. The position will work with the Head of Musical Theatre and the rest of the MT faculty to continue to build on the Program's many strengths in training for the musical theatre artist.
Teaching responsibilities include beginning and advanced jazz dance classes and a Musical Theatre Styles Dance class, relying heavily on a wide range and mastery of a variety of dance styles. Choreography and team teaching courses to include the senior musical theatre showcase and yearly University events. Other choreography will include select studio or mainstage productions. Additional faculty responsibilities include participation in student recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for remaining current in the field with regard to evolving styles and techniques.
Qualifications include significant professional experience in performance and teaching or choreography, as well as connections and recognition within the professional musical theatre industry. Candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of the musical theatre repertoire and possess a collaborative nature as a creative artist and teacher. Previous University teaching a plus, but not required. Salary commensurate with experience.

Students train in all three areas of musical theatre with the largest dedicated musical theatre faculty in the country. The mission of the program is to train students to successfully compete in the professional musical theatre Industry - while providing a technical and artistic foundation for life-long creative output. Graduates of the program regularly perform on Broadway and around the country and world.
