Role Summary and Purpose
As a Video Streaming Supervisor at NBC Universal (NBCU), you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations and staffing of this 24/7/365 Digital Operations Center. This role will report to a Manager of Video Operations and help lead both the L1 and L2 Operators. The supervisor is responsible for making sure that L1 and L2 support are following all operations procedures including real-time troubleshooting, escalation, resolution and reporting of issues.
The Supervisor of Commercial Operations will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing successful execution of live event ad insertion. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the team of operators have the optimal resources and are staffed accordingly to handle all video workflows for live events.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
• Oversee the execution of commercial operations, for all DTC properties including Peacock and NBC Sports
• Oversee L1 and L2 support and ensure proper incident management is being followed
• Own Operations Process Management and create living runbooks for all different events
• Work directly with management and report on the day to day inefficiencies within the operations team and own them until resolution
• Document failover plans and clearly communicate to a team of 10 Operators
• Understand workflow areas that need additional testing before major events
• Own and manage strong working relationships with internal brands and external partners
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Minimum of 3-4 yrs experience in Digital Operations
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Network Operations Center or digital distribution facility
• Minimum of 3 yrs experience in a role with a track record of effective staff management along with high energy level, and strong team skills
• Minimum of 3 yrs experience leading a support team to effective issue resolution
• Willingness and ability to work or be on call at any time, sometimes on short notice in order to support a 24/7/365 operation

Desired Characteristics
• BA/BS in related field
• Extensive experience, understanding and knowledge of digital product and distribution systems, standards and processes
• Strategic project management leadership
• Technical experience with digital video and audio, troubleshooting and test techniques
• Prior experience with video encoding, delivery distribution workflows
• Experience with scheduling and resource management
• Strong attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills
• Effectively flexible in approach, and responds well to pressure
• A track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations
