Description
SkyShowtime is looking for a highly organized and extremely focused Director of Video Editorial to help manage our rapidly growing content library. As a seasoned operations professional, you will oversee and navigate a high volume, constantly evolving queue of video requests and ensure all orders are successfully published to our platform on a daily basis. Patience, diplomacy and perseverance will benefit you greatly in this role. Experience with multi-language asset management, procurement and servicing will also be important.
We'll rely on you to establish and maintain the video content fulfillment schedule by prioritizing incoming programming requests against mission critical operational and editorial needs. Your commitment to precise publishing timetables will set the bar for overall delivery reliability and will play an instrumental role in our success within the highly competitive, ever-evolving media landscape.
We're also looking for those who want to help build a new corporate culture--we are passionate about movies, TV shows and building a new streaming service from scratch, but we think it's really important to have fun while doing so.
Essential Responsibilities
could include, but are not limited to:
• Lead a team of operational publishing specialists, responsible for servicing and supporting the on demand streaming video content fulfillment supply chain
• Liaise with internal tech ops support teams as well as external service vendors to establish and enforce delivery requirements, milestones and accountability; driving efficiencies and readiness to both upstream and downstream publishing systems
• Manage and maintain content fulfillment tracking priorities through Airtable
• Optimize and consistently refine servicing cadences; adhering to compliance mandates and marketing/promotional obligations while also implementing change requests and adjusting distribution timetables under often fluid deadlines
• Audit content availability and entitlement processes; proactively addressing all anomalies with licensing teams prior to platform syndication
• Create, maintain and revise process maps, user stories, workflows and standard operating procedures as needed
Qualifications
/Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience with:
o digital video file formats, encoding specifications, publishing workflows and troubleshooting techniques
o content management systems trafficking high volume, time sensitive media assets for multi-platform syndication
o governmental compliance standards, practices
Minimum 4 years of experience with:
o managing operational teams
o multi-language asset management and delivery
o media transfer protocols, workflows and methods; Aspera, Signiant, etc.
o enterprise OVP services such as MPX, Brightcove and Kaltura
o DAI concepts, practices and ad serving platforms
o archival data system cataloguing, indexing and restoration
Expertise with:
o MS Office: Word, PowerPoint and, most importantly, Excel
o streaming apps on digital platforms and consumer products
o project management methodologies and systems such as Agile, Scrum or Jira, Trello, Asana, Smartsheet
o MAM and DAM systems
Working knowledge of:
o collaboration services such as Airtable
o Atlassian software suite, specifically Jira and Confluence

• Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Communications, Computer Science or equivalent discipline
Desired Characteristics
• Television entertainment industry experience preferred
• Excellent and effective communication and collaboration skills
• Expertise distilling highly technical terminology into basic requirements & concepts
• Proactive problem solver with the ability to prioritize and concurrently handle multiple, time sensitive requests within a high-pressure environment
• Strategic knowledge and familiarity with streaming media platforms and services
• Understanding of traditional MVPD distribution in comparison to emerging OTT services: AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, PVOD
• Familiarity with data insights and metrics tracking tools Domo, Adobe SiteCatalyst, and Google Analytics
• Project Management certification (PMP, PMI, etc.)
