Description
NBCUniversal is hiring an Associate, Editorial Copy to join a driven team responsible for creating and optimizing the metadata on our service -- from the visible words on platform to the behind-the-scenes tags fueling platform features. We are seeking a solutions-minded critical thinker and wordsmith guru who is adept at swiftly handling change in a constantly evolving industry.
Joining our Editorial Creative team, your copywriting, copyediting and metadata skills will support our asset delivery cadences, including the creation and optimization of film and series synopses, episodic titles and descriptions, video clip and live event metadata, virtual channel descriptions, playlist and collection titles, thematic rail names, and related style guidance for internal and external partners. To support these workflows, you will collaborate with internal and external partners on the timely delivery, review, and updating of consumer-facing copy and backend metadata for our burgeoning library. Additionally, you will support analysis of content and related categorization within our evolving taxonomies, including the selection of keyword tags and genre classifications. Finally, this role includes reviewing performance data and consumer insights research to hone metadata and copy specifications for an ever-evolving product, including varying audience segments.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong eye for detail and quality assurance, the ability to appropriately modulate tone, and overall organizational prowess. This position also requires solid understanding of journalistic standards, strong familiarity with film and television, fluency in current events (politics, COVID-19), interest in pop culture and sports (WWE and Premier League aficionados raise your hand!), and the ability to support the day-to-day editorial needs of our content workflow.
