Overview:
Our team is responsible for developing and producing compelling storiesâ€''as told through video, editorial, and social platforms. We promote programming from Paramount which includes movies, live sports, breaking news with a mountain of entertainment from the ViacomCBS brands such as CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, and Smithsonian! Our team optimizes the best of Paramount content to drive audience, engagement, retention and revenue. We use data analytics, analyzing the competitive landscape while recognizing opportunities for innovation that is continually evolving!
Role and Responsibilities:
The Technical Producer will be responsible for representing the tech team in planning and scheduling studio and on-location shoots for the Paramount Video Team. They will maintain an investment in the content side of things to keep the tech team up to date on any emerging shoots. They will be a direct liaison between the tech team and the Creative Video Producers, PR, and other Paramount partners working with the Video Team. They will also be responsible for keeping calendar schedules for Studio-10, Studio-11, and on location shoots up to date. Working directly with all Production Managers to crew and plan studio and on-location shoots - they will have a thorough understanding of specific crew and logistic needs. Being a part of the tech team, knowledge and experience in audio, video, camera, and post workflows is necessary. The Technical Producer should also be ready to fill in on tech and crew needs when necessary, ranging from assisting in camera, audio and teleprompter operations. While focusing on planning and producing, the role is part of the tech / crew for Paramont Video Team studio and on-location productions.
Day-to-Day:
• Work in-office with tech and studio teams in Burbank
• Attend production planning meetings, taking notes, and communicating needs to production managers
• Maintain calendars for potential and confirmed shoots, staying on top of changes through emails and meetings, and updating production calendar as needed
• Directly communicate with freelance production staff to confirm their availability for shoots
• Put together crew lists, call sheets and send out invites for shoots
• Coordinate covid testing for crew and talent
• Be a part of studio shoots whenever possible and also attend technical meetings to better understand production needs and changes
• Ready to fill in on production and technical positions when needed. Positions could include Floor Director, Teleprompter Operator, and possibly Camera Operator.
• Assist in technical troubleshooting and mock shoots when needed
• Run the virtual aspect of productions by creating Zoom links and hosting production viewings for the larger remote staff
• Work directly with the Manager to collect any necessary paperwork from Talent including personal release forms, SAG timecards, etc.
• Work directly with Production Coordinators with media delivery after shoots. Getting footage safely and accurately offloaded onto server
Key Projects:
• In studio “after shows†supporting Paramount key show properties including Star Trek The Ready Room and Halo Declassified
• “EPK†style interviews supporting Paramount content for shows such as Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fight, Why Women Kill, Halo, iCarly and The Game
• Live stream activations for specific content and events surrounding Paramount including events such as Star Trek Day
Basic Qualification:
• 3 years technical experience of video production, broadcast, and/or digital deliverables
• 3 years in planning, coordinating, or leading productions
• 1 year in media asset management
• Bachelor's level degree or equivalent experience
• Must possess meticulousness, organizational, problem-solving abilities
• Confident and comfortable working with multiple creative teams, personalities and voices
• Must be creatively focused with the ability to proactively identify and resolve challenges through innovative solutions
Additional Qualification:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and client/talent relationship building skills
• Strong understanding and technical knowledge of production processes and studio operations including camera or sound operating experience
• Experience producing live web content & mobile content
