Overview and Responsibilities:
Telecommuter (100% remote)
Paramount is hiring a Sr. Manager of Application Development to lead the application development efforts of an international website used by multiple global business groups. The Sr. Manager will lead employees and partner with an Eastern European company to deliver a high-quality application on time and under budget while maintaining the integrity of multiple environments including production. This role develops a team of resources to ensure cons stability, compliance, and standardization and is responsible for the effective and accurate operations of the system. This will include responding to business user questions and requests as well as using developer resources to build and maintain the system.
The Sr. Manager will lead employees and contractors. Team management responsibilities include:
• Handles the development staff activities, including forecasting, time tracking, vacation planning, goal setting, employee evaluation, and career development.
• Partners daily with an Eastern European company to build an enterprise-scale, robust, SaaS software solution which supports multiple business units worldwide.
• Uses metrics to accelerate velocity while maintaining high quality.
• Creates, carries out, and maintains multi-tier staff support plans for during and after business hours.
The Sr. Manager will lead a team to develop software according to the standards and policies of Paramount. Team delivery responsibilities include:
• Ensures source code is conforming with Paramount standards and security policies.
• For complex features, ensures approved design exists preceding implementation.
• Handles task assignments to ensure each developer delivers to his/her full potential. Decides vertical and horizontal split of work to accomplish feature.
• Ensures proper labelling, versioning, branching and merging to prevent the loss/duplication of code.
• Builds bug prediction models leading to resource allocation during testing phase.
• Authors and coordinates production cutover plans.
The Sr. Manager is responsible for the continued operations of production systems. This includes the processes to prepare a system for operational support, as well as leading the application team to solve technical issues which occur. Environmental health responsibilities include:
• Ensures continued operations and enhancements of WordPress and C# .NET web sites.
• Has ultimate responsibility for successful deployment to all environments using Azure DevOps build and release pipelines, collaborating with DevOps, cloud engineering and cloud operations.
• Partners with continuity team to implement disaster recovery testing and assists with technical configurations and documentation.
• Ensures the system is properly configured in each application environment.
The Sr. Manager will collaborate with many teams daily, primarily with the application’s functional team. Team collaboration responsibilities include:
• Monitors and reports progress, problems and solutions in a timely manner. Follows through to ensure costs and time estimates are realized within planned limits.
• Provides clear, Logical, regular communication with all project collaborators at all levels, including presentations to senior management, creating agendas and meeting minutes.
• Builds and maintains technical roadmaps for applications, including upgrades, bug remediation, technical debt refactoring, and but not limited to, introduction of new technologies.
Actively participates in applications planning/strategy meetings and provides input on the most appropriate and effective use of applications.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years leading enterprise application development through full SDLC
• Deep understanding of .net framework
• 3 years handling technical support for applications
• 1 with WordPress
Additional Qualifications:
• C# applications experience
• Extensive SQL Server experience writing and maintaining complex queries
• Experience with agile scrum team
• People Manager
• Strong analytical skills
• Good communicator
