Overview and Responsibilities:
Paramount Human Resources is looking for a strong writer and content creator with a curious and creative streak. The Senior Coordinator, HR Internal Communications will be a content powerhouse reporting to the vice president of Portal Experience, and will help evolve the company’s new global intranet into a unique and engaging home base for Paramount’s 20,000-plus employees. The candidate should be an inventive and capable long- and short-form writer and content creator who is able to distill complex processes and concepts in a simple and creative way, and who is comfortable working with multimedia and back-end content management systems. This position sits at the heart of a dynamic worldwide entertainment company and will be a passport to every part of the organization, from learning the inner workings of our Paramount streaming organization to promoting the priorities of our Office of Global Inclusion, Corporate Social Responsibility team, and culture and diversity initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
• Maintain the homepage and news and events centers for Murray, Paramount’s global intranet, ensuring content is frequent, current, and applicable.
• Build content that showcases Paramount’s evolution into a modern entertainment company and workplace, including:
• Long-form features highlighting business, diversity, or cultural initiatives
• Multimedia stories that could include audio, video, or photo elements (podcasts, short interviews, photo galleries) and showcase an individual, initiative, product, or property within the company
• Bite-sized content that can be repurposed across internal social media platforms and that succinctly delivers a business or personal achievement
• Collaborate with global network of content creators to:
• Sync content around companywide initiatives
• Ensure uniform flow and blend of local and global content
• Train local content creators on content management system and help them troubleshoot issues with creating, deploying, or targeting content items
• Collaborate with Paramount Content Team to promote internal initiatives and accomplishments to external audiences, as appropriate
• Tap internal communications channels to keep employees informed on Murray’s ever-evolving features
• Pursue stories from concept to completion: Pitch ideas, attend events, conduct interviews, review documents, draft copy, gain approvals, publish final copy
• Work extensively with various back-end content management and tracking systems (SharePoint, Service Now, JIRA, etc.), that we use to host, manage, and track Paramount content
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year writing experience in collaborative setting including college or self-publishing
• College graduate with a degree in English or journalism is preferred
Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent writing, reporting, and interviewing skills, with a practiced writing voice
• Ability to write items of varying length, purpose, tone, and style as needed for different platforms and purposes.
• Ability to synthesize a vast amount of information into a concise, easy-to-understand overview
• Savvy at interviewing people, in person or on the phone
• Familiarity with html, Service Now, SharePoint, and Adobe Photoshop are helpful but not required; however, these will have to be learned on the job
• Expertise in Microsoft Word
