Job Summary
The Preservation Manager is responsible for ensuring that Paramount’s film, audio and digital assets are protected, preserved, documented and as accessible as possible to Paramount business units.
Responsibilities
to include, but not limited to:
⦠Oversee all aspects of preservation of a title:
⦠Historical and technical research to ensure accuracy and appropriate context of work
⦠Inspection of all available picture and sound materials
⦠Coordination with labs and institutional partners
⦠Photochemical and/or digital replication
⦠Ensure vendor conformance to Paramount workflow and standards
⦠Compile and assemble all necessary documentation
⦠Ensure accurate ingest of preservation materials into relevant physical and digital asset management systems
⦠Financial tracking and reporting
⦠Work closely with Archive and Tech Ops teams, ensure preservation deliverables are validated within current and future systems and workflows; maintain close working relationships with relevant team members to ensure deliverables are up-to-date with changing requirements ead on Film Restorations and titles that require talent involvement
⦠Assist with overflow work within Asset Management group, as needed
⦠Provide client-focused responses to queries about Paramount feature films and Paramount film history
⦠Provide Preservation-related expertise to all branches of the Archives and Tech Ops teams
⦠Refer internal and external inquiries as appropriate to SVP of Archives, Legal Departments, Tech Ops or other relevant Paramount area
⦠Provide general support for the Archive
Basic Qualifications:
⦠Minimum 3 years experience working archives, mastering and/or post production operations at either:
⦠Studio
⦠Feature or Television Productions
⦠Post Production Facility
⦠Working knowledge of various 35mm and 16mm picture and audio assets
⦠Knowledge of history of film picture and audio technology and processes!
⦠Understanding of digital assets and workflows
Additional Qualifications:
⦠Superior communication skills
⦠Background in technology such as high resolution scanning, digital audio and databases
⦠Self-motivated, self-starter
⦠Flexibility in managing multiple expectations in a fast paced, evolving environment
⦠Experience in Xytech, Excel/SharePoint and Ariba a plus!
⦠Ability to handle and prioritize a high volume of work, with changing priorities
⦠Strong research, writing, business analysis and presentation skills
⦠Experience working in client-focused entertainment industry archive
