VCP /GLOBAL CREATIVE GROUP
VCP, ViacomCBS Consumer Products (part of ViacomCBS) are responsible for the licensing, management and product development across the successful and diverse portfolio of ViacomCBS brands including; PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles , Garfield, Baby Shark, Star Trek, MTV , Comedy Central brands and Paramount Pictures.
VCP APAC is led by the VP Consumer Products (Singapore/Australia) who is supported across the region by an established team across Sales, Franchise and Creative. Our business is both direct and via a varied network of agents who are extension of our own in-house capabilities.
GCG, Global Creative Group, supports all creative needs for VCP; product, events, character art, style guides, marketing, retail. It is led by the EVP, (based in LA) and is supported by a leadership team based in NYC and London.

We partner with our Business and Franchise teams at both a Global, International and local level to deliver best in class products and services. What will you be doing?
• The Junior Editor position will join the growing publishing arm of VCP. We work with major publishers across EMEA, developing books, magazines, collectibles and part works. This role will provide editorial support to the Senior Editor, overseeing product approvals for a variety of licensees, of both original content and pick up from our library plus assisting with in-house book development across our range of brands in multiple markets in the EMEA region
• Working very closely with the in-house design team and supporting efforts in Agent markets; assisting with localisations where required.
• Coordinating and facilitating the efficient use of content to maximise our speed to market whilst maintaining creative excellence
• Working together with the Commercial Publishing team to assist in delivering the best, new and innovative formats; ensuring we have a fresh/refreshed backlist and exciting new publications!
• Hold up to date and shareable knowledge of publications available on Storefront to support pick up content for our Publishing partners.
• We’re looking for someone with excellent editorial skills and experience in preschool children’s publishing â€'' including novelty titles. Ideally, you’ll also have some knowledge of the licensing industry. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages of development, with creative flair, commercial acumen and core organisational and communication skills.
What are we looking for?
• Support the Senior Editor & Senior Designer / Designer on publishing development â€'' including books, magazines, part works and collectibles across our portfolio of properties.
• Support the Senior Editor & PD Designers to provide day-to-day editorial feedback and support to publishing partners through our PD system, to ensure product is on-brand and high quality.
• Ensure all editorial product development is in line with brand strategies at the local territory level.
• Work with the legal team to ensure all product development is in line with terms outlined in contracts.
• Support the Senior Editor & PD Designers plus key stakeholders in commissioning and developing story and activity books across our brand portfolio â€'' this will include working with external writers and designers, and ensuring deadlines are maintained.
• Copy-edit and proofread manuscripts.
• Support the Senior Editor & PD Designers to manage agents and agent markets across development.
• When required, attend development meetings with specific partners and agents to discuss the brands, assets available, submissions process, creative and innovative branding ideas.
• Provide editorial support for the wider CP and Brand management team on content/copy where appropriate â€'' e.g. marketing and retail.
• Commit to consistently improve our products, developing innovative, business relevant and original creative solutions for our brands.
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED?
• Editorial experience within children’s trade book publishing.
• Understanding of the licensing industry, and the use of licensed characters in publishing.
• Excellent hands-on editorial skills, good attention to detail and strong copy-editing skills.
• Good visual editing skills and an ability to work closely with designers.
• Good operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.

• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously, with excellent time management skills.
