Overview and Responsibilities
Paramount seeks an electrician! This position is essential to the operation of the building and its equipment. The electrician oversees and assists the chief electrician with the electrical infrastructure of the facility. The electri all electrical equipment for the facility and its tenants.
The electrician position is responsible for working directly with the Chief Electrician, maintaining all electrical apparatus in the building, such as emergency generators, UPS Systems, HVAC equipment, lighting, switches, receptacles, panels & breakers. The person in this role needs to be available upon request to work overtime for facility maintenance and building projects.
• Coordinate with Chief Electrician to ensure code compliance as per NEC Electrical Standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, perform rounds, conduct routine assessments, perform day-to-day preventative maintenance.
• Daily inspection of UPS Units, battery rooms, service switches, ATS, STS, MTS, switchgear, and lighting.
• Assist in overseeing contractors working on the premises.
• Coordinate and oversee vendors working on site.
• Will ensure contractors work safely and within the building rules and regulations.
• Monitor operation of electrical equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as needed basis, performs preventative tasks when required. Oversees all repairs when necessary.
• Carry out preventative maintenance of various types of electrical equipment including lamp and ballast replacement, replace and/or reset circuit breakers, maintain, and solve main feeders, distribution panels, sub-panels, and branch circuits, 208 and 480 volts three phase.
• Must be able to work OT on request and available for emergency situations.
• Personal characteristics â€'' Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well with tenants and vendors.
• Proficient with lamp and ballast replacement and/or resetting circuit breakers and fuses. Works with electrical conduit, greenfield, and wire mold raceways. Cutting, threading, and installing all sizes. Drilling and hanging of proper supports for all electrical conduit, raceways, and lighting fixtures.
Basic Qualifications:
• Proficiency in the operation and function of UPS Units, Automatics Transfer Switches, and emergency generators.
• Must have completed the Local 3 DBM apprenticeship program or similar electrical field/school experience.
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of 277/480 volt and 208 volt power.
Additional Qualifications:
• Proficiency in the operation and function of UPS Units, Automatics Transfer Switches, and emergency generators.
• 3-5 years experience preferred
