Overview and Responsibilities
Job Summary
Are you a self-motivated, self-starter? We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Development who will be responsible for the day-to-day development and productions of the TV studio's annual slate.
Responsibilities
to include, but not limited to:
*Oversee the development of new scripted series from concept to series for distribution on multiple platforms
*Supervise series once in production
*Identify, solicit, evaluate new IP and development ideas/concepts for series
*Give script notes on projects and point key packaging discussions
*Provide input to business affairs on deals
*Share key talent, pitches & coverage with team
*Lead team of executives on each project
* Develop and maintain relationships with talent (writers, producers, directors, actors, authors, filmmakers, etc.)
* Provide ongoing guidance on casting decisions
*Spearhead problem solving and crisis management resolution with studio partners and outside producers on all creative and production issues
*Manage special projects and assignments as required
*Lead and mentor more junior team members
* Other related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
* 10-15 years of related experience with demonstrated roles of increasing responsibility
* Deep understanding of the scripted series development and production processes
* Strong relationships with agents, managers, writers and producers
* Significant knowledge of the network television and streaming television landscapes
Desired skills/experience
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Strong development history and talent for identifying unique material
* Creativity and curiosity
*Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management.
*A self-starter, who is assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated
*Ability to multitask and manage complex projects
*Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
*Ability to negotiate and effectively reach resolution
* Self-motivated, self-starter
* Extensive experience working with filmmakers and creators
* Excellent communication and writing skills
* Proficient Word and Excel skills
