Full Time Job
This position is responsible for structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on complex development, production, distribution, rights and other agreements for Paramount content across television and digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for business affairs functions involving long form content, short form content, including all phases of negotiations from term sheet to definitive agreement.
• Negotiate and draft actor test/options, script agreements, pilot/series development and production agreements, term deals, rights agreements co-productions and network licenses.
• Review and approve budgets for productions and manage production issues while working closely with producers, showrunners and production executives.
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to finance, marketing, creative, publicity, legal and production executives in connection with deal structures, talent relations issues and other strategic business matters related to development, financing, production, distribution and marketing.
• Provide analysis, draft and distribute memos summarizing talent approvals, consultations and rights for television projects.
• Provide advice and prepare documentation with respect to related trademark, copyright, corporate, antitrust, tax and labor matters in coordination with other Paramount departments and legal counsel.
• Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest development in the law and technology as they relate to the development, production and distribution content.
Qualifications:
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in a television, motion picture studio, production company, network or law firm.
• At least 6 years of television industry experience.
• Member in good standing of California Bar and JD from accredited law school.
• Strong negotiation and writing skills mandatory.

• Superior drafting, negotiation, communication and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and work under deadline.
• Must be highly detail oriented.
• Must be able to work under tight timelines and meet deadlines.
• Ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously and have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Transactional experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating animation, live action, television, and/or other entertainment contracts a plus.
• Ability to build interdepartmental relationships at all levels.
