Overview and Responsibilities
The Director, International Distribution is responsible for box office reporting related to current and forward-looking performance of theatrical film releases. This role will report to the SVP, and will work as part of a highly collaborative group. Do you have experience in film distribution to theatrical markets and a passion for the industry? Then this is the role for you! Core responsibilities to include:
• Manages and develops team to ensure all routine and critical business reporting and projects are handled efficiently while ensuring utmost accuracy.
• Assesses performance of Paramount’s theatrical releases and competitive tentpoles. Ability to quickly draw valuable conclusions as to the likely impact on performance of a title.
• Prepares release date strategies for Paramount titles; identifies any potential alternatives by conducting an in-depth review of release windows, competitive titles, and holidays that could impact a title’s success.
• Proactively identifies key and current industry trends to assess impact to the International Distribution team.
• Executes extensive and detailed ad-hoc analysis and research assigned by SVP of Int’l Distribution including box office reporting, emerging markets performance, regional movie going habits, and the evolution of the film industry.
• Creates comprehensive territory presentations to assess distribution proposals.
• Maintains sub distribution data including contracts and identifies designated ‘special’ titles. Liaises with Legal team as required.
• Reads, analyzes, and assesses scripts for international potential / performance as part of the Greenlight process; identifies competitive titles for box office comparisons.
• Supervises enhancements and service request relating to all IT systems used by the international distribution team.
• Gathers technical and business requirements the Box Office Reporting system from key stakeholders across the organization. Constructs coherent project roadmaps and liaison with external IT developers to ensure successful implementation.
• Works with internal departments to foster positive relationships and optimize data sharing and understanding.
Basic Qualifications
• 7 years of film experience in distribution to international markets, with extensive demonstrated knowledge of international theatrical distribution.
• A high level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create detailed reports and presentations.
• Ability to quickly analyze and interpret quantitative data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
• Project Management experience.
• Thorough and detail oriented, with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to offer ideas and take initiative to improve processes.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce.
• Bachelor's Degree strongly desired or equivalent experience.
