Full Time Job
We are looking for a UX Designer to drive user experience work across Pac-12 Networks digital products and content; including web, mobile, email marketing, etc. In this role, you would work with the Sr. Design Director and Sr. Product Designer to define and execute the experiences sports fans have with Pac-12 Networks.
We’re seeking someone with 5 years experience who is well-versed in UX design principles, effective at applying them to a range of projects, and excited to collaborate with colleagues from Product Management, Engineering, Research, Content, and Marketing.
Responsibilities:
• Produce great product designs for digital platforms including mobile (native apps, mobile web, etc), desktop/laptop, social media and more as they come.
• Contribute meaningfully at all levels of design, from concepting and strategic design to product execution, in a lead or contributing role depending on scope.
• Excel at ideating and wireframing or prototyping UX solutions, and communicating those ideas to stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team that includes Product, Design, Engineering, Sales, Content, and Marketing. Communicate with departments not as close to the product development process such as Programming and Distribution.
• Document ideas via wireframes, workflows, prototypes, or product specs. Work with others to close out open issues in a timely manner to hit product deadlines.
• Propose new ideas or product improvements, or ways that work we do in our department can be leveraged by other departments to benefit the overall company.
• Be an effective communicator, including the ability to present and collect feedback on design solutions effectively to all levels of the company.
Desired Skills
& Experience:
• 5 years of experience designing digital products.
• Experience designing for interactive, content-rich digital experiences.
• Proficiency with Sketch, Zeplin, Photoshop, or comparable tools to clearly communicate and/or document your designs.
• While candidates will not need to code, they should be familiar with how common front-end and mobile technologies impact design.
• Be proactive and able to execute projects in a semi-structured environment.
• Be willing and able to change directions periodically as priorities change.
• Interest in and knowledge of college sports (desired but not required).
• Experience working with or for a video-centric media company (desired but not required).
What success looks like:
• Your design ideas and executions contribute to product and feature success, most often measured by video viewership and fan engagement
• You complete your work on deadline so we can launch products and features at times when we’re likely to most benefit from those improvements (e.g. in time for football season, before our Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments)
• The UX and product improvements/changes you propose serve known user goals and business goals Pac-12 Networks has regarding viewership, revenue, etc.
