The Production Accountant is responsible for oversight of production accounting functions as well as various general accounting and assistance with revenue duties as assigned. Responsibilities include maintaining production general ledger and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
• Support Production Operations by establishing and maintaining coding & naming conventions. Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting against production budgets.
• Ensure that all productions are adhering to appropriate procedures and controls by overseeing the production accounting functions. Assure production staff is informed of procedures.
• Prepare cost reports and analysis on all productions detailing costs spent to date compared to original budgets.
• Prepare month-end close of Production general ledger and prepare reports of actual and accrued costs to date related to programming expenses.
• Set up project budgets in the production accounting system based on project requests from production groups.
• Oversee processing of production accounts payable.
• Prepare credit applications for vendors and maintain vendor relationships.
• Manage the American Express processing related to Production.
• Review expense reimbursement requests and credit card statements for proper receipts and compliance with Company policy.
• Reconcile expenses between production and Enterprise.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Controller to ensure alignment of the Production sub-ledger with the Primary ledger, determine and create weekly cash flow requests for funding from the operating account, and provide documentation as needed for monthly close.
• Calculate 401K company match for eligible freelance employees each pay period.
• Prepare month-end journal entries related to production accounting.
• Coordinate cash application and marketing rebate calculations for Affiliate Revenue.
• Support affiliate revenue month-end close entries and updates.
• Provide reporting support in Coral, Affiliate Revenue system.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or significant progress towards a degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Minimum 1 years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Superior organizational, analytical, and time management skills
• Effective interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication; good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams
• Experience working in a culturally diverse organization and supporting the values held by our unique employees, clients, sponsors, university faculty, and fans
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
