Full Time Job
The Programming Manager supports the development and implementation of Pac-12 Networks scheduling and execution of live events and other content offerings. This role will focus on programming operations inclusive of facilitating, improving, and adopting processes integral to the function of Pac-12 Networks linear and digital platforms. The position reports to Pac-12 Networks’ Director, Programming Operations and is based in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and communication of Networks programming schedules
• Oversee the communication of programming information across the organization, third party listings services, and consumers
• Responsible for creation and distribution of live event contingencies and guidelines
• Participate in the development and execution of new content initiatives
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to highlight key promotional and audience development opportunities
• Organize messaging for programming alerts and updates
• Coordinate program delivery with internal departments
• Act as a point person with Master Control for programming operations questions and issue that might arise
• Work closely with production and traffic departments to plan programming delivery and coordinate execution
• Responsible for updating and distributing closed captioning schedules
• Work closely with the Research department to integrate key findings into programming plans
• Serve as a backup to the Director, Programming Operations
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in programming/new media/digital experience or other related areas in sports media.
• Demonstrable history of building strong relationships with multiple internal and external partners across varying disciplines
• Detailed oriented with the ability to multitask and maintain accuracy on high-profile information.
• Understanding of the Pac-12 Conference, the college sports landscape and media entities.
• Strong knowledge of content viewing trends across the industry on both linear and digital platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, passionate, team-first attitude
• Ability to lead and own projects from conception to completion
• Previous experience scheduling for a media company preferred
• Prior experience managing employees a plus
• Willingness to work hours dictated by the sports schedule, including occasional evening and weekends.
• Familiarity with Wide Orbit scheduling software, Dalet, social media platforms a plus.
