Freelance Job
Pac-12 Networks is seeking a freelance Production Assistant to join our Remotes Content Production team in San Francisco, focused on live events production. This position is responsible for supporting the content workflow across Pac-12 Remote production. This position reports to the Senior Project Manager, Remote Production and focuses on production needs in support of the remote production team responsible for providing content and elements support across 850 live broadcasts sporting events.
The preferred candidate will be detail oriented and have working knowledge of live sports television production. This role requires strong communication skills, strategic thinking and problem solving as well as flexibility and a willingness to dive into multiple projects at once.
This person will be an organized self-starter who works well under tight deadlines, with the ability to work across several teams to continually help production teams, document processes, and represent team feedback for overall workflow improvements. Additionally, this candidate will have demonstrated success in live television.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Primary responsibility is to support Senior Project Manager, Remote Production in all pre-, post- and event day procedures, assisting the production team in all stages of production
• Produce supporting Remote event content with other team members or in solo practice
• Learn and use repeatable, Remote editorial processes, but with a special emphasis on production delivery and “day of” support timeframes
• Use of video editing systems, Adobe Premiere CC and Dalet Timeline. Work with various video and audio file formats, image and RAW formats, and metadata management
• Work with remote production staff, video editors and other freelancers to work within and with digital asset management software and hardware. Use of MAM systems, EVS XFile, and Dalet DMS
• Other responsibilities include technical documentation, organizing production development timelines, schedules, and team communication
• Develop other Remote event responsibilities such as Integration, Production Operations, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 years of live event broadcast experience or similar role at production companies or studios
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to work “off” hours i.e. late night, weekends
• Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills; good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in a culturally diverse organization and supporting the values held by our unique employees, clients, sponsors, university faculty and fans
• Familiarity in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, preferably Adobe Premiere
• Preferable knowledge or equivalent experience on EVS applications- XFile, IPDirector, XTAccess
• Preferable knowledge or equivalent experience on Apple and PC hardware
• Preferable prior work experience in sports television or studio television production
• Strong problem identification and reporting skills
• Passionate about Collegiate Sports, particularly Pac-12 Sports
