Full Time Job
We are looking for a creative professional to join our design and marketing team. The design team supports artwork and design needs for a wide variety of campaigns across all departments, using central brands and visual themes that help the Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma City Blue basketball teams connect with our fans locally and around the globe.
As the digital designer, you will be responsible for layout, design and production of digital projects from concept to completion. This position plays a meaningful role in producing both original and established branding, working with our in-house Marketing/Design team and other departments to manage and develop the Thunder and Blue brands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Execute projects from concept to production for a variety of digital platforms including web, display ads, widgets, email, social media, mobile apps, digital billboards, etc.
• Continually evolve fresh digital content and brand recognition through web and app based platforms
• Design and prepare files on team-related advertising and marketing projects specific to the digital space
• Extend creative concepts across mediums to produce consistent design assets for integrated campaigns including web, mobile, out of home, social media and digital ads
• Contribute creative ideas of methods/visuals to build and sustain consistent, loyal and engaging fan interaction
• Analyze and research best practices among sports and business models in the digital space to enhance brand resonance
• Monitor creation and delivery of digital design assets, ensuring alignment to brand design strategy and on-time production
• Demonstrate excellence in creative brand storytelling across various media applications
• Responsible for consistent logo usage and oversight of established graphic department standards and for ensuring global design best practices are consistently applied across global markets
• Organize projects by priority (with help from the Director of Marketing) to ensure deadlines are met, considering all steps from inception to completion
• Continually optimize innovative digital layouts through awareness and research of new design trends, techniques and technology
• Work with the staff photographer to help concept and organize photography assets for use in digital creative
• Communicate with vendors as needed
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
and Requirements:
• Two-year or four-year college degree preferred, with areas of focus in digital media, graphic design, fine art, typography and photography
• Minimum two years' experience required
• Video editing and post-production experience a plus
• Knowledge of social media formats for various outlets
• Strengths in both interactive and static content creation and implementation
• Ability to maintain a professional focus and still contribute with energy in the creative process
• Detailed knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Successful at working in a team environment, taking into account the opinions and needs of others while meeting departmental goals
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage time and projects especially under deadline pressure
• A positive and upbeat attitude toward colleagues and vendors
• Strong listening and communication skills
• Capable of working on multiple design projects at a given time
• Work schedule will include office hours as well as some non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Creative Services Manager.
