Part Time Job
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Social Media/Content Assistant. This part-time, seasonal position reports directly to the Director of Communications & Content. This role will be responsible for supporting the A's content team by conceptualizing, producing, and editing content for the A's social media channels.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in campaign execution to help grow the Oakland A's social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
• Conceptualize and create branded content, including graphics and artwork, designed and tailored specifically for the A's social channels to help promote organizational messages and initiatives, including community programs, ticketing promotions, corporate partnership activations, etc.
• Ensure all artwork produced meets the needs, requirements, and brand standards of the organization
• Collaborate with the Creative team in executing gameday duties such as the daily lineup graphic, final score graphic, quote graphics, broadcast/tune-in information, and more
• Create visual content for the A's social media channels that highlights the A's team, players, fanbase, milestones, etc.
• Manage the A's photo database, including but not limited to: consolidating photos from all gameday photographers, editing photos, tagging/categorizing photos, and uploading to team photo database
• Stay current on social media trends
Qualifications
• 1-2 years of experience in content creation and/or social media
• Strong project management skills and ability to multitask with great attention to detail in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
• Candidate must be available to work various nights, weekends, and holidays to support the Social Media/Content team on game days
• Experience with basic photo editing and managing a photo database preferred
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom
• Understanding of the visual elements (layout, type, and fonts)
• Video animation knowledge a plus
• Portfolio or examples of digital graphics/artwork strongly encouraged
