PLAY BALL Team Member
Department: Community Engagement
Reports to: Manager, Youth Baseball & Softball Programs
Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Description
The Oakland A's are currently seeking applicants for PLAY BALL Team Members. This part-time, seasonal position will coordinate onsite programming of the A's PLAY BALL events throughout the East Bay. Team Members will represent the A's in the community and run a PLAY BALL event each weekend throughout the season. We are looking for energetic, friendly, and team-oriented individuals interested in positively impacting the community through the growth of youth baseball and softball.
Responsibilities
• Provide baseball and softball instruction, including basic skills in hitting, throwing, fielding and catching
• Assist with pre-event and post-event setup and break down, including the arrangement of stations and directional signage
• Assist with onsite event registration
• Organize participants and help run station rotations
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
• Strong familiarity with baseball and/or softball
• Experience playing, and/or coaching preferred; not mandatory
• Experience working with kids preferred; not mandatory
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to stand and move around on foot for 1 ½ - 2 hours at a time
• Ability to work weekends and holidays from February-October
