Description:
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Community Fund Intern for the 2020 season. This position will serve to provide administrative and operational support for the development and execution of the day-to-day Community Fund activities. This includes, but are not limited to game day fundraising initiatives, development of relationships with the community, partners and beneficiaries, and lending assistance to the planning and execution of marquee fundraising events and other community engagement activities. The internship is designed to develop valuable skills and gain work experience with a professional baseball organization. This position will pay $14.14/hour and run from February to October.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the execution of game day fundraising initiatives including, but not limited to the 50/50 Raffle, scoreboard messaging, memorabilia auctions and the Community Corner
• Assist with Community Fund special events and fundraisers
• Assist with donor acknowledgment letters and database management
• Assist with community volunteer events
• Assist with youth baseball and softball events on an as-needed basis
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements:
• Presently enrolled in an accredited college or university or have graduated within the past 12 months
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
• Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
• Prior customer service experience is a plus
