Position: Event Staff

Reports to: Manager, Special Events

Description:
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking individuals for the Event Staff position. Team members will work closely with the Special Events Department to provide assistance and support for events throughout the Bay Area, including home games at the Oakland Coliseum. The Event Staff position is a part-time role. Applicants must be available throughout the entire 2020 Oakland Athletics baseball season with flexibility in the off-season.
Responsibilities
• Maintain a positive image of the Oakland Athletics brand at all times
• Familiarize yourself with the company's mission, vision and goals
• Interact and engage with fans and event attendees of all ages in a professional manner
• This may include, but not limited to, greeting, directing guests, distributing giveaway items, and handling data collection
• Provide excellent levels of customer service and address attendee concerns in a friendly/courteous manner
• Assist with the preparation, setup, execution, and/or breakdown of events
• Participate in the execution of event marketing initiatives or promotion that increases brand awareness and drive brand affinity for the Oakland Athletics
• Proactively engage with fans or event attendees to generate leads
• Monitor area of event assignment and maintain a clean and safe atmosphere for attendees
• Communicate clear and concise event information to fans, guest, or event attendee as needed
• Maintain event equipment by keeping it organized, in good condition, and properly stored after each event
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements:
• Applicants must be 18 years or older and be able to work in the Bay Area
• Must be comfortable and enthusiastic on camera for in-game promotion or video content
• Ability to drive the marketing vehicle to and from events when scheduled
• Must have general knowledge of baseball and remain up to date on organizational affairs
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions including cold, wind, rain, and heat
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to remain calm, positive, and professional under stressful situations or in large crowds
• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport boxes or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs
• Must be customer service oriented, reliable, results-driven, and enthusiastic
• Must have a valid California Driver's License
• Flexible schedule required with minimum availability of 20 hours per week, including 50% of all home games. Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, late nights, and holidays
