Full Time Job
The Oakland A's are looking for a Contract Project Manager to lead end-to-end implementation for special initiatives. This person will work closely with upper management to ensure scope and direction is on schedule as well as other teams and outside vendors for support. The ideal candidate will strive to demonstrate excellence on projects and has the desire to learn and grow in a consistently evolving environment. PMI or PMP Certifications and Microsoft Project proficiency are required.
REPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct end-to -end project management from project initiation through project close for special Oakland A's initiatives
- Serve as primary contact for Oakland A's Ballpark initiatives
- Ensure project scope is well-defined, gathering additional project requirements when needed
- Manage project timelines using project management collaboration tools (Microsoft Project)
- Communicate project status and articulate project information (issues, risks, concepts – as needed) to diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels, tailoring communication appropriate to audience
- Manage and report budget status
- Coordinate with team to ensure effective project execution and coordination of resources
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 5 years of special events or construction Project Management experience
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA/Confluence, Slack, Quip)
- Excellent leadership, team management, relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of presenting to executives
- Ability to manage large project with multiple vendors and external dependencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Possess strong working knowledge of project management methodologies, both traditional waterfall and agile
- PMI or PMP Certifications
