Description:
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Ballpark Events Assistant. This person will assist with the coordination and execution of events and promotions that take place throughout the year. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
• Coordinate the following Ballpark Events:
• Oakland A's Kids Club Program
• Oversee Kids Club game-day staff
• Firework Nights
• Heritage Nights, Little League Days & Special Ticket Events
• Assist in the following Ballpark Events & Promotions
• Opening Day/Night
• Root Beer Float Day
• Reunions / Anniversaries
• Fan/Kid Appreciation Weekend
• Coordination of the Ballpark Event photo database
• Assist in the implementation of gameday event operations and entertainment production.
• Assist with Pregame, during and post-game events
• National Anthem / Ceremonial First Pitch / Color Guard
• Special ceremonies & Events
• Assist with management of specific A's event budgets
• Assist with department administrative duties
• • Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Event and gameday experience is preferred
• Experience overseeing part-time staff or interns is highly desired
• Must be highly motivated. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work all Oakland A's home games
• Flexible hours, days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Excellent time management, interpersonal, verbal and written communications, decision-making and organization skills. Able to meet established deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Knowledge and appreciation of baseball and/or experience working in sports
