Winter/Spring 2019: January 7th-April 19th
Are you interested in learning more about how large non-profits raise philanthropic support from individual and institutional donors? Join NPR's dynamic fundraising team and learn how to find prospective partners, cultivate and build relationships with high net-worth individuals and large foundations, and navigate a grant cycle, from initial qualification and outreach to proposal and final report.
The NPR Development team is responsible for raising over $30 million in support for NPR's news and cultural programming. The team works closely with editors and journalists from NPR's news desks and programs to craft messages about the plans, priorities and impact of our journalism. The Development intern will be an integral partner in this effort and focus on work that will help to expand the range of donors that support with NPR.
Qualifications:
-Strong writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail
-Advanced research skills
-Data and database experience
-Familiarity and comfort working with Microsoft Excel
-Experience managing multiple projects
-Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
