Full Time Unpaid Internship
Winter/Spring 2019: January 7th – April 19th
How I Built This is a new weekly podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists, and their personal stories about how they got to where they got. The show is a narrative journey marked by triumphs, failures, serendipity and insight. How I Built This is a highly produced interview-based program, hosted by NPR’s Guy Raz. Guests include change-makers and industrialists, thought-leaders and risk-takers.
Responsibilities:
• Works on all aspects of production, including pitching ideas for interviews and episodes
• Assists in arranging interviews and conducts related research
• Occasionally pre-interviews guests or their representatives.
• Assists with weekly social media needs
• Gathers material for short audio features about entrepreneurs in our audience
• Helps get the weekly podcast finalized for release, which includes performing routine administrative tasks
Qualifications:
• Interest in skilled radio production and storytelling. Interest in entrepreneurship and startup culture is a plus though not required
• Strong Digital Media skills, including proficiency in social media as both a newsgathering technique and as a way to distribute content
• Excellent research skills
• Ability to manage both long and short-term projects
