Full Time Job
Are you passionate about music and live events? Do you have experience engaging with communities of artists and music listeners? The NPR events team is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial candidate to oversee and manage the annual Tiny Desk Contest and provide additional event support to NPR Music. Over the past 12 years, the Tiny Desk has grown into a brand that amplifies the best of NPR Music -- a home for the discovery of music of all genres. The Contest, inspired by the Tiny Desk concert series, was launched in 2014 to help identify and launch the careers of unknown artists. Since then, the Contest has reached millions of fans across NPR.org, NPR’s news programs and podcasts, and our powerful network of Member stations. We cap each edition of the Contest with an annual national tour dedicated to celebrating the diverse array of applicants. If you’re right for this job, you’ll be a great communicator who is highly organized and able to keep a complex system with many different participants from getting tangled. This role also supports the NPR events team, which produces live events across the nation, taking public radio and podcasts out of the studio and into concert venues and intimate spaces with entertaining, thought-provoking experiences. This position is based in Washington D.C.
