Full Time Job
The Board and Campaign Relations Assistant provides project coordination and support to the NPR Board and Campaign Teams.
Essential Duties
• Provide administrative support to help fulfill the goals of the NPR Development Board and Campaign Teams.
• Serve as coordinator and support Board relations for NPR Development – participate in regular conference calls, prepare meeting materials, act as a liaison to support Board communications, and staff Board meetings and activities.
• Actively participate and support strategy development for Board members and Campaign leadership.
• Support activities and communications of Campaign committees, leadership groups, and cabinets as assigned.
• Act as the liaison to other NPR Development teams in the Division
• With support from the NPR Donor Relations team, support the coordination of Board and Campaign events; help maintain event invitation lists, on-sight management and execution of event plans; support the Donor Relations team during department-wide cultivation and stewardship events.
• Work with NPR Donor Operations and Individual Giving teams to prepare a variety of briefing, prospect management, pipeline, and other progress reports as needed.
• Work with the Development Writing Hub to coordinate the development of relevant updates to Board and/or Campaign leadership.
• Partner with Individual Giving team to ensure coordination on shared annual/Campaign donors; facilitate alignment of activity and strategy among teams.
• Pull accurate lists from donor database as needed for Campaign and Board efforts.
• Update and maintain donor records in Raiser’s Edge including information related to moves management and prospect tracking. Organize and keep accurate electronic and paper files for donors.
• Draft and edit letters and other correspondence to donors and trustees.
• Handle requests for background briefings and prepare materials to support Board and Campaign meetings.
Required Skills
and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of two years of related work experience, preferably in development.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities and meet short deadlines while working with stakeholders across the Development Division.
• Must possess good judgment and exercise diplomacy in dealing with a variety of constituents.
• Professionalism and commitment to confidentiality of sensitive donor information.
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills. Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to interact professionally with trustees, major donors, and senior staff with poise and discretion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner.
• Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of NPR, as well as the technology tools available to the Development Office, including the fundraising database system Raisers Edge, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong personal work ethic, collaborative, and results-oriented; combined with a sense of humor and perspective.
• Must understand and appreciate NPR’s mission.
