Noggin is a leading learning service for families with preschoolers. We deliver streaming and interactive learning content that helps young kids develop skills, knowledge and passions through play with the characters they love. We also help parents help their kids thrive. A direct-to-consumer offering available on 10 platforms, Noggin reaches families in the domestic market through standalone mobile apps, connected TV apps, and add-on channels. Overview and Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled and experienced VP of Engineering who can drive innovation in our Noggin mobile apps and across our broader technical infrastructure. The role involves defining a vision for the future state of the Noggin technology across platforms with a particular focus on mobile and web in order to deliver on the business goals; developing an impactful roadmap in collaboration with teams of project/product managers, engineers, and designers; solving dynamic enterprise-level technical challenges; and spearheading initiatives to improve code quality and stability while reducing time to market.
We need someone who can develop and advance work consultatively -- soliciting needs, communicating, collaborating to find answers, negotiating and balancing requirements, and resolving issues from a broad set of partners.

• You’ve successfully managed, launched or contributed to notable mobile apps for global brands
• You have broad experience with games, early childhood education or digital learning
• You can balance the needs of multiple partners and engineers while rallying teams around a vision and strategy
• You’re comfortable architecting, consulting and reviewing code in Java, Swift and/or Unity
• You have experience with video streaming platforms and OTT TV
• You have the confidence and modesty to be an effective leader, collaborator and technology specialist
• You have a toolkit of standard methodologies for QA, testing, CI, security and deployment
• You can estimate large-scale initiatives with reasonable accuracy and breakdown your vision into manageable sprints
• You seek the support and guidance of your teammates to build and deliver the best possible solutions
Responsibilities:
Craft and implement product and technology strategy:
• Define and drive the product technology strategy and architecture
• Help define and drive the product strategy with the Noggin leadership team
• Evaluate and architect new product ideas and opportunities, as well as improve existing products and features
• Shepherd new ideas through to implementation alongside product leaders: research, product planning, discovery, development, execution
Represent Noggin’s engineering needs across ViacomCBS and lead Noggin engineering team:
• Develop scalable product and engineering development processes
• Champion a culture that understands the importance of rapid testing, learning and iteration
• Reinforce continuous innovation and a safe-to-fail environment while also mitigating business-threatening risks
• Use data in making product decisions and setting priorities; encourage metrics-based optimizations to the entire portfolio—striking the right balance between fixing bugs and launching new features
Basic Qualifications
• 7 years experience in software engineering and architecture, with at least 2 years working with a consumer-facing digital product
• Deep understanding of product and software development processes end-to-end; technical background strongly preferred; extensive experience with technical side of product development process
• Proven strength in designing, managing, and implementing software and infrastructure architectures
• Familiarity with user research, data driven experimentation, sprints and rapid iteration
• Experience with direct-to-consumer products; experience in Ed Tech is a plus
• Excellent quantitative and communication skills
• Interest in working on digital properties for kids
