Overview & Responsibilities:
The VP, Animation Casting & Talent will be responsible for supporting the department head in casting efforts and needs for animation streaming features & series for Nickelodeon Animation Studio and theatrical features for Paramount Animation. The VP should have strong relationships within the v/o landscape, including talent, agents, managers & publicists. This exciting role will support the department head to align with all business goals which may also include, talent relations, pilots, digital shorts and/or current series productions !
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Oversee casting and talent for assigned theatrical, streaming features, series, and pilots
• Support Department Head in hiring and oversight of in-house and independent casting directors
• Build and manage relationships and correspondence with potential talent and their representatives
• Liaise with BALA regarding talent contracts, feature, and series deals, and participate in contract negotiations as needed
• Collaborate and coordinate with all Nickelodeon and Paramount departments, including Production, Music, Social, Marketing, CP, Digital, BALA, Press and Research to support alignment with animation talent
• Partner with internal development teams to brainstorm talent vehicles and talent development opportunities
• Track competitive animated projects, v/o deals, and talent across the animation landscape
Basic Qualifications:
• 15 years of experience in casting, talent relations, & talent development within the entertainment industry
• Experience working in animation is a must
• Working knowledge of talent contracts and negotiation/deal-making skills
• Proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Additional Qualifications:
• Live Action casting experience a plus
• Experience managing direct reports a plus
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge of animation, talent, media, pop culture, comedy, and kid & family trends
• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure, handle several projects and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage relationships, and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with analytical and instinctual problem-solving capabilities
