Full Time Job
• Manage media relations activity nationwide for Nickelodeon properties including: animation and live-action; original television movies; events
• Create and implement publicity campaigns for assigned projects
• Pitch all area of media including TV, teen/tween, music, digital, sports
• Develop and write press kit materials including: press releases, bios, synopsis
• Oversee photo shoots and the creation of animation art
• Compose key message points for executive and talent interviews
• Oversee and manage sets visits and junkets
• Cover talent at both internal and external press functions such as award shows, premieres and industry events
• Manage relationships and work closely all internal lines of business including: marketing, social, talent, production, current series and development, legal
• Build and maintain relationships with external PR firms, show creators, reporters and talent bookers
• Partnering with NY and LA colleagues
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in television communications, public relations, and/or media relations
• Very strong writing skills (writing samples required)
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to generate and present original work and concepts
• Strong knowledge of the PR field including experience in media relations, press campaign development and execution of creative, strategic and well-thought communication plans
• Experience in talent media training and executive prep
• Interest in and knowledge of television business, including ratings, emerging technologies, (i.e. digital services) and digital entertainment.
• Understanding of the mechanics and business issues of television including marketing, programming, production, research, ad sales and affiliate relations
• Solid relationships with major press outlets including: monthly teen/tween magazines, weeklies, consumer press, trades, online, blogs and business media
• Independent and strategic thinker, able to take initiative and follow through on projects.
• Strong team player
• Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends
Position is based at Nickelodeon’s headquarters in Burbank, CA
