Full Time Job
The Senior Analyst, Production Finance reports to the Sr. Director and assists the team in the budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking of Nickelodeon's bi-coastal live action, animated and preschool series productions. This includes partnering with Programming Finance, Production Management and the development teams to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting of financial information. Responsibilities include:
Payroll
• Act as main contact for both the outside production payroll company for all Nickelodeon Animation departments (Casting, Fellowship, Artist & Writers Program, Productions, Development, etc.), as well as for internal Live Action union and non-union personnel.
• Responsible for ensuring complete, accurate and timely payroll submissions from production teams. This includes reviewing payroll edits and freelance invoices, and follow-up/resolve any issues quickly.
• Perform journal entries and/or reconciliations to ensure costs are posted to the correct budget codes.
• Coordinate and provide support for payroll audits with internal and external parties as necessary.
• Responsible for the digital file maintenance of payroll submissions and approved edits.
Production Finance Management
• Prepare monthly cost reports and EFCs for assigned productions, including cash flow planning/analysis and variance explanations.
• Partner with production teams to create and review budgets, and conduct regular ongoing meetings to analyze the actual costs versus the plan. Recommend adjustments to keep production costs on track.
• Support monthly/quarterly accounting close requirements, including preparation of accruals, project reclasses, general ledger account analysis/reconciliations and research variances as needed.
Corporate Finance Management
• Partner with the Senior Director Production Finance on aggregating costs, forecasting Studio spend and analyzing financial information.
• Provide support and insight into best practices and call out any risks and opportunities.
• Ensure all budgets and updated EFCs are properly loaded into the financial systems.
• Manage requests regarding animation/studio matters, production cash flows, journal entries, etc.
• Partner with Nickelodeon Programming Finance team to compare cash flow pacing to the series EFC and provide updated financial projections based on revised production schedules.
Production Support
• Assist production teams with researching costs, creating POs, corporate and procurement card questions, T&E related items and AP submissions.
• Point of contact for financial system support (SAP, etc.) as necessary.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Adhere to company financial policies and procedures, and communicate any changes to the production teams.
Basic Qualifications
• 2 years in financial analysis, production accounting and/ corporate accounting/finance
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field
• Ability to adhere to confidential nature of highly sensitive material
• Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Additional Qualifications
• Working knowledge/experience with production accounting software (PSL, Global Vista, Smart Accounting, etc.) strongly desired
• Experience with SAP and Longview Solutions a plus
• Passionate about television with a keen interest in and aptitude for learning the business
