Overview and Responsibilities
The Nickelodeon Live Action Scripted Development team is seeking a Manager, Development. We want someone excited about working in Kids & Family space! We are currently seeking an individual who will solicit, procure, evaluate and develop scripted series -- shepherding projects from pitch through pilot production. The Manager will report to the SVP of the department. Specific responsibilities include:
• Initiate and maintain outreach in the creative community.
• Liaise with agents and managers to bring in new writers, directors and producers with an affinity for the kid/family audience
• Read writing samples and take general meetings with writers whose voices align with the Nick brand
• Bring in pitches and identify potential IP for series development
• Review and evaluate loglines, pitches, treatments, and script submissions, providing clear feedback to guide writers
• Create deal request memos and distribute to appropriate parties; coordinate with Business Affairs throughout negotiation process
• Formulate and compile extensive creative notes during all phases of development that provide writers/directors/producers with clear, concise direction
• Work with the team to identify promising projects on the slate and create decks for greenlight recommendations
• Help coordinate all creative aspects of pilot production - from casting through prep and post
Basic Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a TV/Film creative field
• Exemplary writing skills and excellent knowledge of script / story structure
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Talent friendly demeanor to collaborate with writers/producers
• Ability to make decisions and problem solve

• Established relationships within the agency, management and development communities
• Passion for the kids’ entertainment space and cultivating underrepresented voices
